The top types I really go for would be, FPS, RPG, and Strategy of any sort. Particularly War Games. For FPS I'd take the Medal of Honor Games, Half-Life's 1 and 2, Halo games of course, Battlefield/Battlefront games, and most favorite likely, Counter-Strike Games. RPG... LOTR The Third Age was great, just the ending kinda sucked, and it was rather limited in choice making, and got redundant at times. Knights of the Old Republic = Major. Freaking. Win. Soooo massive, so intricate, and you'll never play it through the same way twice. Strategy, uhhh, ok so actually I'm into the real life detailed strategy, like with tiles and such so yeah, lol.

I clicked like 3 or 4, can't remember which ones. RPGs and Simulations are cool. Turn based games are awfully nice.

Halo is overrated. I like it and play it and all, and the story's cool, but there's very little strategy to it.

The strategy is to "pump your enemy full of lead intil he falls down"....."then teabag him"

I agree with you there Zac. The only strategy is sticking a plasma on a grunt and seeing him go right into the rest of the enemy camp :P lol

I must be the oddball here. I always strategize like crazy in that game. It makes for some amusing combat situations - typically ones that end up in my favor of course. :D

True IN :mellow: Its hard to decide what to do when you have one red dot of health, one plasma, no frags, 9 ammo on your plasma pistol and 6 shots on your sniper with no guns around you and the door you need to go through has 2 hunters, 5 elites, 7 jackals, and nearly 15 grunts all on legendary level and theres an ammunition and health suppl right past them all. Man those are always fun times. I sticked on that same part death after death for 5 hours strait with no x fire.

There's applying to strategy to a game, and then there's a game driven by strategy. That's the difference. ;)

I find the best strategy to just close your eyes and shoot...it works about 30% of the time :P

Eh, to be honest I've played very little strategy games (just never have gotten the chance). That reminds me, Dwan! You're supposed to teach me chess!

I know I lean toward it sometimes since I learned to play way back when I was 5. Otherwise, it's hardly my choice of strategy. In fact, most computer strategy is pathetic.

Because you have the the choice of your moves and are evenly matched with your opponent. Not like age of empires where one guy has most of the resources and the other dude isnt. Plus, its all on the board not like with having your guys every where and having to manage them through a forest or something while your other guys near the enemy base are getting attacked ;)

For the record, as far as "Strategy" goes, Chess is probably the simplist.

I used to be pretty good at checkers, but I've lost my edge. I think my mind dulled from playing against Dwan for so long (he doesn't take checkers seriously...he picks up the pieces and makes them talk to one another--like action figures...)

How to play chess? No, not yet.

Depends which one. Most of the versions I've seen were platform based, though I suppose they did make some FPS'...

The originals, yes, from 1986-2000, they were but now the FPS ones almost over weighs the platform.

Overall, that's not too surprising. FPS' tend to be more popular. I'm a little surprised that Platformers are holding there own in the poll.
