Title: Prayer Requests
Nickbomb - July 23, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
I believe this is something we need on this website being a Christian gaming company. Please post your prayer requests and needs so we can pray for you.

Question: What separates a Christian company from a non-christian one? Like, do you say you're a Christian company because you all are Christian or is your religion reflected in the games you make?
Just curious.
Hewkii Inika - July 24, 2007 08:31 PM (GMT)
It's a Christian company because most, if not all, members of it are Christian. No other reason. We're not trying to convert people into Christianity with this, we're just trying to entertain.
Just wanted to address that. I don't have a prayer request yet, but good topic, Nickbomb. :)
*DWAN* - July 24, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
Basically means you won't see any mature(adult) content in our games. And we are all Christian. We do difer on some opinions so...we are different forms of Christianity in one company. We may have games that have Christian meanings in them in the future.
I have a question for you to BG.
What separates a non-Christian company from an anti-Christian company?
I don't expect anyone to answer that.

What are you implying? Are you implying that we are anti-christian because Alg is atheist?
Seeing as not all our members are Christian, we can't be a Christian company. I myself am Catholic, however.

No, I am not. This is open to all. Not just the Christains. If Alg has a prayer request he may post it. Same with any one.
*DWAN* - July 24, 2007 09:38 PM (GMT)
I'm not implying anything. I just think that what you said didn't need to be said.

That wasn't directed at you, Nickbomb, you didn't say anything that insulted me. It was Dwan.
Personally, I do occasionally get annoyed with Alg's mockery of christianity and christian conservatives, but he's still my friend and I just try to get past it.
Not to mention, I'm probably just as cynical on Christianity as he is; I've never read the bible, I think Creationism is false, and a bunch of other stuff, but he's an atheist, so he's obviously more cynical towards religion than I am.
Nothing wrong with being cynical, though. I myself am somewhat of a cynic :P

I was asking a question; I was curious as to what made a Christian company a Christian company.
I might've taken your post the wrong way, as many people do on t3h intarw3bs :)
*DWAN* - July 24, 2007 09:51 PM (GMT)
A Christian company can be many things. Depending on the extent of porpose in the company. Our main hoal is to make high quality games. we just so happen to be all Christian(and most home-schooled). We don't say "You have to be Christian to be in the company" and we don't really advertise ourselves as Christian.
And this topic isn't about Biotech, this was a topic made by a member of this forum. He happens to be in Biotech. =P
Yes, the internet is majorly flawed. "Arguing on the internet is like running in the special olympics..."

Possibly the greatest picture ever.

I really need prayer. I feel that possibly my entire church rests in my hands and I need to take the stand to hold it up. I just need prayer so I can have the strength to pull it together. Theres a lot of situations that are going on in there.

I just gave IN the short story. Here:
People in the church dont discipline their children. It seems only me and 3 other kids out of about 30 or so are the only moral ones. You may not know this but Im the kind where if people bully around my friends(those three have become very good ones) I cant resist but defend them. The majority of children pick on those three only hence why I protect them with my life(one of the kids over there were strangling one of my friends last night). I went and intervened between them. I warned the kid who was beating up my freind 4 times and told one of the kids(a good one, a little sister whom I love) to tell an adult. The kid didnt stop and when I told one of the adults they just smirked. I was forced to use violence. I shoved the two apart from each other and used akido on the bully. Then one of the adults(a deacon at the church) came by and told me to stop it. It made me ticked off. In the end the bully just smirked and laughed after the adult left. Ive confronted the immoral childrens parents many times but they just(in a figure of speech) spit on me. The thing is Ive thought about bringing this to the pastor but the thing is the immoral parents have corner stone parts in the church where if they go the church may fall (as well as the radio staion). So if I do tell the pastor and he tells them to get out, we leave a lot of main parts undone. If I dont tell him then the moral people in the church will fall.

Akido? You, my friend, are BA.
-Zach- - July 29, 2007 10:18 PM (GMT)
Liek ZOMG, a prayer request post in the prayer topic. :P
I'm going through a... stressfull situation with a friend right now. She's pretty freaked out (Spiritual encounter shall we say?) and it's basically a matter of trying to help her deal with it while dealing with the stress of camp at the same time, not to mention that we have no workteam this week (Normally we have 15+ in addition to our normal 15 average staff) so it's gonna be friggin hectic, and add to that the fact that everybody is jumping to conclusions because they see me talking to her alone about this thing. (stupid rumour mills.)
wolf waltzing - July 29, 2007 10:54 PM (GMT)
Sounds pretty hectic. I'll pray for ya.

Inversely, if someone would like me to leave an offering of lily petals and wine to the spirit of their choice for them, I'll be happy to do so.

Arriathan - August 3, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
An easy enough mistake. I am rather butch.
Plus, everyone knows there's no girls on the internet.

Ooh ooh! We had a pagan at camp this week. It was funny. She was all like, "Your God is like one of the most interesting of the gods."
We also had a vampire worshiper. Fun stuff. Can I hear stressful week? Oh and next week is stressfull too.
Oh yeah, and we had another one who was seeing skinwalkers. Yep.
wolf waltzing - August 4, 2007 09:31 PM (GMT)
seeing? you mean literally seeing skinwalkers or do you mean watching the movie Skinwalkers...which wouldn't make much sense because that has little to do with vampires and satanists. Um...I confuzzled. >_<
Nickbomb - August 5, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
The first thing that came to mind when you said "skin walkers" was a picture of naked people.
wolf waltzing - August 5, 2007 01:00 AM (GMT)
Lol, *pictures army of nudists*, strange picture there.
I think skin walkers are like animals in human skin. Like werewolves, but I'm not sure. I'll have to check wikipedia or something ;)
-Zach- - August 9, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
Like seeing real ones. And no it's not a satanic or cultic relation, it's a native belief thing. Basically it's a man who by the power of the 'spirits' can wear the skin of an animal, thus becoming the animal. At times it's not much more than a medicine man or such carrying the skins of animals trying to pronounce blessings or curses, or simply scare others... whereas in it's most literal form it's heavily rooted in demonicism, sometimes not containing a human part at all. The latter is what we encountered last week, and unfortunately are encountering this week. Two of our staff had a physical encounter with it last night during mission impossible, as well as some dreams and such. Anyways... yeah. *goes back to camp*
wolf waltzing - August 9, 2007 05:00 PM (GMT)
A friend of mine when I was little used to be afraid of me sometimes--saying that they saw my eyes change into an animals or something like that, or saying that there was a demon/animal in me....and this was long before I decided I liked wolves. My friend's mother also claimed to have had encounters with demonic spirits and had prayed and they went away. So, I don't know what to think really.
I do think that sometimes demons show themselves into what we are interested in/afraid of. As one man that I knew was once entirely obsessed with aliens and was once seen by separate people to be floating in the air, unconscious, and a voice telling his wife that she could not move--and she couldn't. She prayed and whatever was holding them let loose, but the man himself doesn't remember it at all.
I wasn't there, so I don't know what if anything happened, but tis enough to make you think.
Anyway, your description of the skin walker just made me remember the freaky aspects of my childhood. I'll be praying for those at camp, as they could be seeing something/someone.
Oh! sidenote, I happen to know someone who sees/talks to angels. she could just be crazy, but who isn't around here.
-Zach- - August 10, 2007 12:59 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's understandable. Don't really have much time to go into specifics, but just trust that we are absolutely sure when we say it's a true demonic encounter. :)
Oh and yeah, last night, four of us including me had another 'encounter' with the same spirit as well. So anyways...
wolf waltzing - August 10, 2007 10:01 PM (GMT)
Pray my eye doesn't get infected--kitten decided that boxing me in the eye was fun. So, there's a scratch on the inside of my eyelid.
Arriathan - August 12, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
God, that Skinwalkers movie sucked. If your movie can be summed up in its entirety in two sentences of its own dialogue, it has no business being all of 92 minutes long. And the dialog is just so stilted it's almost comical. CONTRACTIONS, PEOPLE! USE THEM!
wolf waltzing - August 12, 2007 03:21 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I haven't seen the movie and don't plan on it. I saw the trailer and just said to myself, "Well, there goes another crappy b-movie. Wonder how long til it's on Sci-Fi channel?"
-Zach- - August 12, 2007 06:18 AM (GMT)
Hey yeah, it's like late now, camp is over (I'm gonna cry I swear) and it is the -last- night that a handful of us remaining staff have together. We're hanging out together and planning on pulling an all nighter.
Anyways, the skinwalker stuff has had something happen every night and it's the last night out here, and we'll be up, this could be fun. :P
BG - August 18, 2007 02:51 AM (GMT)
You guys actually saw spirits? Please do tell.
