| yup! did you create it? |
Yep. All the graphics in there were custom sprited/coded by me. :D
'B' - January 4, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
yup i'll happily help with the game! ;) oh and i was talkingbout the font...
Iruini Nuva - January 5, 2007 04:51 PM (GMT)
I've uploaded the pic and sent a PM to ya. Have fun! :D Yes, I know you meant the font. I'm working on getting that uploaded too.

Iruini Nuva - January 7, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
Any features that you guys would like to see implemented?
'B' - January 7, 2007 10:42 PM (GMT)
a visualizer! :o ya know those bar thingees! ;) where they go up and down when a song is played! :)
Iruini Nuva - January 7, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
There's already one of those in there. ;)
-Zach- - January 8, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
Pretty good, I love the fact that it actually plays CD's. *didn't know Gamemaker could program that* -shrugs- A few things I'd improve on are A. The Visualizer. It could be something abit more indepth, or sound driven maybe B. The Player looks good, but It could be abit more sleek, maybe a 3D generated sprite? C. Ripping ability maybe?
Iruini Nuva - January 8, 2007 08:01 PM (GMT)
A - It is semi-sound based. Clearly it isn't as accurate as the high-end ones, but it works.
B - Feel free to fool around with that idea. :P
C - I can see if I can figure out a way to do it. That'll probably be a late feature though.
-Zach- - January 8, 2007 08:05 PM (GMT)
Cool. I might fool around with that this afternoon. And I'm too lazy to read the readme, is there an internal volume built in?
Iruini Nuva - January 8, 2007 08:18 PM (GMT)
Not at the moment, I'm still working on that. GM can only modify the volume of midis and wavs, so I'd have to work on a dll extension that modified volume or something, otherwise it'd only work on those select sound types, and it'd get pretty annoying to have the wav all nice and quiet and then have an mp3 blaze out of the speakers because it isn't affected by the basic volume control.
-Zach- - January 8, 2007 08:21 PM (GMT)
lol.. k.. what about track listing? Can it extract that info from the CD, or at least the amount of tracks?
Iruini Nuva - January 8, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
I think I'll do some of that. Making a list of tracks is difficult, but I can definitely have it say how many tracks there are. I can also do stuff with the tags (name, album, author, etc.), but that's still a little glitchy.
-Zach- - January 8, 2007 08:55 PM (GMT)
Ok.. having at least a track list *nonspecific* could help if you wanted to say jump to track 10 without pressing skip repeatedly.
Iruini Nuva - January 8, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
I could theoretically have some listing of tracks, but the software isn't really designed to do it. It's doable, but not very practical, and it'd still be fairly limited. I might just setup something where you could enter in a number and it'd jump to that track. Simpler to program and it saves UI space.
-Zach- - January 8, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
That works. Just as long as you could jump tracks efficiently where skipping isn't.
Iruini Nuva - January 9, 2007 04:08 PM (GMT)
Well, entering a number isn't quite as simple as clicking something on a list, but it's pretty close.
-:i::n:-
-Zach- - January 10, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
Nonetheless, it beats pressing skip 10 times. v_v
-:z::a::c::h:-
Iruini Nuva - January 11, 2007 08:40 AM (GMT)
Heh, true. Any specific kinds of sound files that you'd like to be able to play (besides mp3, wav, etc.)?
-Zach- - January 11, 2007 05:23 PM (GMT)
.wmv? Would make it easier considering how many CD's I've had ripped through windows media player. I don't suppose Perfect Clarity Audio is doable though.. is it?
-:z::a::c::h:-
Iruini Nuva - January 11, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
I think I can do .wmv. No clue about PCA. Probably not.
-Zach- - January 11, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
lol.. K.. and yeah I do honestly doubt .pca is gonna work. It'd likely overload the player or something.
Iruini Nuva - January 13, 2007 08:15 PM (GMT)
I dunno about that. It just gets a little difficult to code programs that run files I have no clue how to use.
-Zach- - January 14, 2007 02:17 AM (GMT)
Well, PCA file formats are huge, so if nothing else it'd slow it down. v_v
Iruini Nuva - January 15, 2007 11:02 PM (GMT)
Maybe. Again, it all depends. If it's reading off a CD, probably not. If it's reading a file off your computer, it might. It depends a lot on your RAM.
Dr. Cakey - January 23, 2007 10:48 PM (GMT)
I haven't tested sound capability yet but...
Make the quit button easier to find plz.
Improve the graphics for the control buttons.
And that's about it...
-Zach- - January 23, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
Graphics -are- indeed being worked on unofficially at this point. =D
Iruini Nuva - January 24, 2007 09:26 PM (GMT)
What are you up to now Zach?
Yeah, that quit button can be difficult to find.
-Zach- - January 24, 2007 10:06 PM (GMT)
>_>
Nothing. Nothing at all. And yeah actually the quit button is abit hard to find.
Iruini Nuva - January 24, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
Well, I had tried to put a red 'X' on it, but I couldn't get it to look right, so it never made the final cut.
Dr. Cakey - January 26, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
Maybe makin it bigger would help...
Or only make the x appear when you put the mouse over it?
