Title: Chronicles Of The Matoa
Description: Future game?
*DWAN* - November 14, 2006 05:25 PM (GMT)
I have an idea for a game based on a story that is solely in my head at the moment.
Game Story:
Seven matoran are chosen to become toa when the island is in danger. Ghost rahi have invaded their islands and are destroying the villages.
When the matoran are in mid transformation they are hit with a blast of dark energy. They emerge as Matoa. Dwan, Gittis, Emoni, Metew, Jivo, Tagie, and Bakaan fight off the rahi. But little did they know, Maktar, the evil shadow being has returned. They must work together do defeat him and his allies.
Game style:
Fighting and platformer.
Game layout of levels:
Play through levels as one player or co-op mode. Switch through charachters at the pause menu to aquire the power needed to advance to sertain areas and through sertain obstacles. Each matoa has a unique powers. (in order of listed names above)Metal/earth, water/speed, stone/going through obstacles, air/high jump, fire/ magma resistance, ice/sheilding, and lightning/charge up machines. There are other unlockable charcters including badguys. At the start of the menu you have different game options. New game, Load game, Continue game, Fighter mode->1P or 2P-> Character select, Options-> sound, music, screen, credits, and replay intro, Exit->are you sure? (Y/N)->play credits.
In fighter mode you can play with your unlocked characters in one on one combat (think of street fighter or DBZ Budokai). in new game/contunue game modes you play in sprite form fighting against small rahi ghosts and normal rahi, collecting power ups and unlocking characters for fighter mode.
after you have beaten the game a new icon on the menu appears, Bonus. In bonus you can see character designs, acces to a guide that tells you where hidden items are, and listen to interviews of the BT staff.
There may be cutscenes and voice acting but they are not necessary. Just grunts and "ha!'s" for fighter mode.
That's all I can think of for now. let me know what you think.

Ooh purdy! :o ;) i'll do some sprites once i get the Moc designs!
;)
*DWAN* - November 14, 2006 06:57 PM (GMT)
I was planning on doing the sprites of the characters myself. If we make it you can help moc and sprite tiles ond enemies.

yeah OK! :) i like tiles and enemies anyway! ;)

You're writing an epic of this on BZP right? Or at least planning to?
*DWAN* - November 16, 2006 04:55 PM (GMT)
Originally, yes. But then I developped a story before and after these events. The first will be an epic, the second(this one here) will be a stop-motion movie and/or a game, and the third wich is based entirely on dwan will be a comic book.

Interesting. What made you come up with the idea of using multiple medias?
*DWAN* - November 18, 2006 05:41 AM (GMT)
IDK :P If you're talking about the game, I just thought it would be pretty cool. I believe that many members will like to play it if we make it.
If you mean for the three different chapters, I thought about it long and hard and I just wanted each to be portrayed differently. I knew that the first was only able to be read because it was a legend type tale. The second had started with a few mocs and a movie just made sense. The third is my favorite. I knew I couldn't do it justice in any other way than a comic book.

Nice! The co-op alone could make this game rival any of Alg's games. Hope you can pull it off. :)

I looked it over once more, and I'll admit, it does look pretty fun. I love the idea of using the main game to unlock stuff for the side game (battle mode). It encourages players to both continue the main story and to play the secondary aspect.
Interviews with BT staff? :fear:
*DWAN* - November 18, 2006 07:07 PM (GMT)
It's not neccecery. I just thought people would like to hear comments on developing the game and stuff.
-Zach- - November 18, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
It's an interesting twist. Basically some behind the scenes goodies in addition to the usual useable goodies.

'B' - November 18, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
sounds good! :) but it will be word interviews right? :o
-Zach- - November 18, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
Actually... if y'all had a digital video camera of sorts I could teledirect it and edit it so you could actually have a short li'l bonus documentary.
*DWAN* - November 18, 2006 07:22 PM (GMT)
I don't believe I do. I have a video camera that can be turned to dvds and uploaded to the computer though :P
Iruini Nuva - November 18, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
I know I can get a hold of some. My dad's a film maker so I can probably get him to do some stuff with a high-def. camera. :P It would be cool to have some documentary stuff in the game. Think we could do it for The Insurgent too?
*DWAN* - November 18, 2006 07:28 PM (GMT)
Sure. I'm trying to save mony so I can go around and meet all of you guys.
-Zach- - November 18, 2006 07:29 PM (GMT)
Sure. :). And I can edit HD as well which is a plus.
'B' - November 18, 2006 07:33 PM (GMT)

-Zach- - November 18, 2006 07:38 PM (GMT)

'B' - November 18, 2006 07:52 PM (GMT)

I have no clue if I could make it to E3...
Gap year?
-Zach- - November 19, 2006 02:55 AM (GMT)
Maybe he means between HS and college. IDK. XD.
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 03:58 AM (GMT)
Perhaps, though I don't intend on taking that long of a break. I want to get through college and start doing what I love - game making (surprise! :P).
'B' - November 19, 2006 12:33 PM (GMT)
a gap year is what we have over here! :P it is the year between high school and College/university!
and i intend to go to America and see it! :)
so what do y'all say about a biotech meet at next E3?! :) i'll probably be up for it! :)
and i will finish HS -> Gap Year (Gamemaking/Comany Building) -> Art College/University...... ;)
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 04:28 PM (GMT)
I would love to try to meet then, but quite honestly, I have no clue when E3 is, where it's held, or how I'll get there.
'B' - November 19, 2006 04:32 PM (GMT)
i think it is in LA/anywhere(it might change each year!) and it is around march/april (i think) :P
i'd have to fly! =P :D
*DWAN* - November 19, 2006 04:35 PM (GMT)
I'd have to fly also because the gas price is too high!! I'd love to go. I'll have to save some money for me and my sister, mom, or my grandfather to go.
'B' - November 19, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
:P yeah i might not be able to mind you! ;) :D
BTW if i do go i'll take My PSP and download sum stuff there! :o :) :BTRulez:
i can also put BT images on there! ;)
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 05:21 PM (GMT)
LA isn't that bad for me. Only a thousand miles or so (I'm going there tomorrow :P). Still, the trick will be paying for it. So will be getting permission...
'B' - November 19, 2006 05:31 PM (GMT)
yeah and trying to find each other when we don't know what we look like! :P
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
We'd probably have seen pics of each other before then.
I think we should make a separate topic about this so that we don't spam up this one - seeing as we aren't really discussing the game.
*DWAN* - November 19, 2006 05:38 PM (GMT)
Just about to suggest that.
-- *DWAN*
'B' - November 19, 2006 05:42 PM (GMT)
yeah
so anyway! i have made a model for the game! :o :)
this is gonna be a great game! :P
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 05:42 PM (GMT)
Done. Please continue the discuss of E3
here. :)

Very unique design. I haven't seen a body built like that before. I think that the tip of the staff protrudes out a little too far though and the silver on it doesn't mesh well with the rest of him. There's room for improvement, but you have a good concept here.
'B' - November 19, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
the reason it is silver becuse people don't usually have weapons the same colour as themselves! :P but thanx and i LOVE CUSTOM BODIES! :) :D
Iruini Nuva - November 19, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
True. These ones just stand out for some reason. Maybe it's more the yellow-green piece that I'm noticing.
