How many posts do you need to be a frequenter?

Just to tell you, that rule thing is just plain gay and stupid. It's pointless, but...

I guess you don't care.

You need 12 posts I beleive. I wouldn't classify it as "Stupid" because it has a good purpose. If we let new members wander in and they only post in the Random Section, they won't give a poo about the company. Then we will be attacting members for the wrong reason. Though in some cases I do agree with you, seeing as some members are already active with the company and can't post in the random section. That is unfair. Besides, 12 posts isn't that high.

But you have no idea how hard it is to get 12 posts when there barely is any place to post anyway...

The other point is that I start a topic, it gets moved to Random Discussion, and I'm then not even allowed to post in it. Gay, see what I mean?

I had discussed this before with IN when the forum was in early beginnings. Rules are rules. You now have enough posts so everything should be fine. There are many topics for you to post in. If you came to this forum for random discussion then you'll be disapointed.

BZP is one of the largest online communities. Why not be like them?

A randomness forum is common to just about every online community, not just BZP. You may not have come just for the forum, but there are people who do do that, or will join for the sake of the forum as a whole, and eventually only post in randomness.

Actually, my goal is to steer away from being a purely BZP-like forum. If we were copying them, I know a number of people who should get docked for advertising violations and the topic regarding our logo would've been dead long ago. BZP does have many good policies, and all of them are justifiable.

We installed the rule to keep people from simply joining because they wanted to talk about something else. Once they prove that they do not simply intend to post there, they are rewarded with more freedom. There are over 100 individual topics outside of RD that may be posted in, so I don't think there's any shortage when it comes to being able to post. I am still open to suggestions, however. What number would you recommend?

However, I do see your point of view regarding moving topics into restricted areas, but at the moment, I see no clear solution to the problem other than removing the rule entirely.

Why? It seems to be doing just fine.

First person to get booted probably wouldve been me if it were BZP. Especially if IN was B6 incarnate here ninja.gif

BZP has the average IQ of 74. That's why you should avoid being like them.

bzp = boring, I'm sorry but it is. Also, there's not much of a "family" feel there, where there is here (of course, such innocence may be lost eventually anyway...sadly). And it does seem to be a lack of intellectual thrill (listen to me, I make most of the dumb comments here and I speak of intellect, lol).

Also, though it was fun enough getting enough posts to post on the random topics, I don't see much of a necessity of it, really. It does more harm than good, imo.

[edit: also, such use of the word "gay" can get you sued. Best if not used in such manner. Gay is happy anyway laugh.gif , try...hmm, use the thesaurus I'm too tired to, lol]

Because BZP is being run by a bunch of jerk wads.

No offense, toward anyone, but forums are better places if they aren't like any other forum in particular. Originality is the best thing that can ever happen. wink.gif

When everyone tries to be original they become the same. (liek, genious!) Almost everything now that is "original" has been done.

And I think that's flamming. *shrugs* I have no power hear.
