Website Help

I'm in the process of redesigning my website, and I thought a new layout would help a lot.

I really like how the Biotech Website is set up, but I don't really want to copy you guys' layout.

I was wonder if anyone, (especially Iruini Nuva ) could help me out a little.

For example, I was thinking, if I used the same type of layout as Biotech's, except have the website navigation bar on the left, instead of the right.

So, any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated.

You could do something along those lines.

I'm happy to help out, sorry I haven't replied to the PM yet. Biotech has been...busy.

Probably the easy way to do is make a table, and have the nav, etc. in the left or right cell, and the content, etc. in the other. Alternatively, you could use a <div> tag.

Funny though that since we've started redoing our site Alg has been gearing up about his.

IN, I don't understand why you constantly are removing snippets of Alg's posts. If they contained swearing and sexual material, then yes, it would be justified. But I have a feeling you're removing parts of his posts because he sometimes expresses his true feelings on Biotech. When a Biotech member says his true feelings about Anaglyph in our forum, we don't edit it.

And we didn't change our site because you guys did; We were contemplating it for a long time because people were complaining about how bland it was. Don't flatter yourself.

Considering that this is like the first I've edited, I don't see much impact to your point. Last time an edit occured, it wasn't me. In fact I had to edit my post back.

We're happy to hear one's opinion about the company, but if someone chooses to phrase something in a way that is unnecessarily detrimental or in other ways problematic, we have every right to remove it. Seeing as I've chosen not to join your forums, I wouldn't know your editing policy. Though some of my staff have mentioned edits by Alg in the past to me. So I fail to see your impact there as well.

Someone needs to tell Alg that too. That was half of what I removed. The only thing that'll do is bomb an argument into existence. Seeing as trolling is against the rules, I have every right to remove content that I believe will make things worse.

Oh, got you mixed up with Dwan, who's edited at least 5 of Alg's posts.

I was just concerned because...I'm kind of a rights-of-speech guy, I really get ticked when it's infringed upon for a dumb reason.

Now if you want to stop trolling, you and some of your workers should be a little less hostile (DWAN) toward us (I'll admit, we're no different in some ways, but we're trying to improve).

Saying that Alg just jumped the gun because you changed your site implies that Alg is jealous of your company, which we are not.

*smacks Dwan* If it seems to be an issue I can look into it.

Being a public speaker myself, I can understand that.

It was meant to be a simple observation, not a large-scale implication that Alg. follows us. I think this is where many of the issues arise: We both interpret someone else's post from a different angle.

How in earth am I stealing business from you when I'm recommending a design *I* used for my website to somebody who often supports you? It clearly sounds like this is another noticeable-but-not-too-obvious jibe at my entire company that you make a lot. Such as questioning the resources I use, or pretending that I'm copying you with no possible way to substantiate that assumption.

You have every right to make your Biotech forum BZPower's little brother if you want, but if you want anybody to use it, I suggest you adapt more leaderly methods of running the place.

And the new Anaglyph website has been in the making since before I know this forum existed.

This may sound harsh, but I know you're smart enough to notice all of the prejudice emanating from Biotech, significantly more so than anything Anaglyph has said. Your company hasn't even been brought up in ages, and yet I always notice vague references of my company's shortcomings to this day on your board. I usually provide my advice in your discussions of Biotech’s future, and though it is usually argued and ignored, it’s still a significantly friendlier move than anything I’ve received from you (other than kindly explaining why half of Anaglyph’s posts in this board have been deleted or edited).

It’s your forum, so run it however you want, but if you want Anaglyph to remain friendly with you, you need to adapt a change of attitude.

I have to agree, I have been noticing how some of the staff have been acting towards anaglyph lately.

BTW, alg, what was it that you said that was removed? I never read it.

I said you could use a verticle layout, which is what Anaglyph is doing. I looks very nice and is significantly less generic that the usual header-on-top menu-on-left setup, which personally, I hate. Thus why I'm changing it.

But back on subject, I've fiddled around with what you said, IN, and it would happen to work OK, but the style of it wouldn't the exactly what I'm looking for.

This was your interpretation and your interpretation alone; nobody else seemed to think that it was out of line.

It seems that this place needs cleaning. But I won't touch it. Because BG thinks I attack Anaglyph. Which I don't. I edited ALL the posts said by ALL of the people I saw responsible for driving the topic into a non-related topic. I'm sad at you all. Because you all think we hate eachother.

I think the problem here was a fault at IN, but then the rest of you start arguing to.

Here's a suggestion: If something happens that yu think is wrong, use the PM function on this board. THat way there won't be spam, flamming, or trolling on the boards.

As I recal, Anaglyph has an advertisement on ou forum too. And we didn't edit it the second it was posted like some peple on anaglyph *looks at people who hated me* But that in itself was just someone TRYING to show loyalty to their company the way they saw fit. At that time we were working things out about previous arguments and fueds. But some of the staff didn't know. I think I was the only one on Biotech that knew.

Anyway, I've typed a lot. I don't like to type a lot because people try to find faults in what I'm saying. I don't care. I just don't like you peple to fight. So stop please.
